English Curriculum Year 2
Words from our units will be incorporated into programmes like Tagxedo to build our word knowledge.
Creating with comic creater will engage students with a different format for persuasive writing that relates to a real life situation.
Word
Through word we will investigate and create with different aspects of the programme including chapter, table of contents, placings our spelling words in alphabetical order, making an index and collecting words throught the units and making a glossary of new words.
This programme has avaitars the students choose, they dress them appropriately, find relevant backgrounds and either talk their message or type it in. This will teach them to listen to the sentence to see if they makes sense.
To engage our children in interesting and fun learning we need to inspire and excite them with learning opportunities. In English we will be creating with the following programmes. I have outlined four reasons why and how this can be done in my classroom.
Three interrelated strands from the Australian Curriculum in English comprise of Language, Literature and Literacy. I will be engaging students with different forms of text as they listen, read, view multimodal text and interperate the spoken language. This can be achieved with these programmes.
Narrative writing will be taught through this programme, students can add images and create their story with this student centered activity.
